📦 Installation

Claude Desktop Version

Resources

This server implements the following resources:

• Custom note:// URI scheme: Used to access individual notes
• Each note resource contains a name, description, and a plain text description of type text/plain

Prompts

This server provides a prompt:

• Summarize notes: Generate summaries of all stored notes
  • Optional parameter "style" to control the level of detail (brief/detailed)
  • Generate comprehensive prompts for all current notes based on style preferences

Tools

This server implements a tool:

• Add note: Add a new note to the server
  • Accept "name" and "content" as required string parameters
  • Update the server state and notify clients of resource changes

🔧 Technical Details

Build and Release

To prepare a distribution package:

1. Synchronize dependencies and update the lock file:

uv sync

2. Build the package release version:

uv build

This will create source code and wheel distributions in the dist/ directory.

3. Publish to PyPI:

uv publish

Note: You need to set PyPI credentials via environment variables or command-line parameters:

• Token: --token or UV_PUBLISH_TOKEN
• Or username/password: --username/UV_PUBLISH_USERNAME and --password/UV_PUBLISH_PASSWORD

Debugging

Since the MCP server runs through standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. For the best debugging experience, we highly recommend using the MCP Inspector.

You can start the MCP Inspector with the following command:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv --directory /Users/eddie/Chima/Research/MCP/jira_service run jira-service

After starting, the inspector will display a URL in the browser, from where you can start debugging.
