🚀 Alibaba Cloud DashScope API's Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

This is a TypeScript-based MCP server designed to interact with the Alibaba Cloud DashScope API, enabling image generation and local storage. The server demonstrates core MCP concepts, including:

• Tools for generating images using the Alibaba Cloud DashScope API.
• Tools for checking the status of image generation tasks.
• Tools for downloading generated images and saving them to the local disk.

• generate_image - Generate an image using the Alibaba Cloud DashScope API.

  • Required parameter: Prompt.
  • Optional parameters: Size, random seed, steps.
  • Submit an image generation task to the DashScope API.

• check_task_status - Check the status of an image generation task.

  • Required parameter: Task ID.
  • Return the current status of the image generation task.

• download_image - Download the generated image and save it to the local disk.

  • Required parameter: Task ID.
  • Optional parameter: Custom save path (must be an absolute path).
  • Optional parameter: Base directory for resolving relative paths (default: WORK_DIR environment variable).
  • Download and save all generated images to the specified directory.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Node.js and npm
• Alibaba Cloud DashScope API key

Environment Variables

• DASHSCOPE_API_KEY: Your Alibaba Cloud DashScope API key.
• SAVE_DIR: Directory for saving generated images (default: ~/Desktop/flux-images).
• MODEL_NAME: DashScope model name (default: flux-merged).
• WORK_DIR: Working directory (default: process.cwd()).

Project Setup

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the server:

npm run build

Automatically rebuild during development:

npm run watch

Configuration Instructions

To use this server on Claude Desktop or other MCP-compatible clients, add it to the corresponding configuration file:

• MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Debugging

Since the MCP server communicates via stdio, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which is provided as a package script:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tool in your browser.
