An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides product review data and search functionality.

🚀 Quick Start

The MCP Product Review Server is designed to offer product review data and search capabilities. It can display product lists as resources, provide tools for searching reviews by product ID, rating, and keywords, and is intended to be used as a streaming server with CLINE.

📦 Installation

This project uses uv for dependency management.

# Install dependencies
uv pip install "mcp[cli]"

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Start the MCP Server

# Run the server directly
python product_mcp_server.py

# Or use the MCP CLI
mcp run product_mcp_server.py

Development Mode

For testing and debugging:

mcp dev product_mcp_server.py

Local Deployment

1. Choose the stdio transport method. The MCP client and server communicate via local standard input and output:

   mcp.run(transport='stdio')
   

   If the server is running locally, after configuring the startup command, CLINE can start the server using commands like mcp run / uv run mcp run / unx. CLINE has integrated the MCP client code and can communicate with the server.

2. Choose the sse transport method. The MCP client and server communicate via local standard input and output:

   mcp.run(transport='sse')
   

   If the server is deployed remotely, whether it is started using the systemctl start mcp-server command by configuring /etc/systemd/system/mcp-server.service or using commands like mcp run / uv run mcp run / unx, it can be accessed via {host}:{port}/sse. Configure it in CLINE as follows:

   "{server name}": {
        "url": "http://{host}:{port}:8000/sse",
        "disabled": false,
        "autoApprove": []
      }
   

Advanced Usage

Integration with CLINE

To use this server with CLINE:

1. Start the MCP server:

   python product_mcp_server.py
   

2. Configure CLINE to connect to the server (refer to the specific steps in the CLINE documentation).

Available Resources

• products://all - Get a list of all products.
• products://{product_id} - Get detailed information about a specific product.
• reviews://{product_id} - Get reviews for a specific product.

Available Tools

• get_products() - Get a list of all available products.
• get_product_reviews(product_id) - Get reviews for a specific product.
• search_reviews_by_rating(min_rating) - Search for reviews with a rating not lower than the specified value.
• search_reviews_by_keyword(keyword) - Search for reviews containing a specific keyword.

AWS Lambda Functions

The server includes a simulated implementation of AWS Lambda functions located in the /product-api/functions/ directory:

• get_products.py - Return a list of products.
• get_product_reviews.py - Return reviews for a specific product.
