This is a server project that interacts with the Genius API based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Through this server, data interaction between LLM (Large Language Model) and the Genius platform can be achieved, including searching for song and artist information, as well as other related resources.

• genius-search: Allows users to search for songs, artists, or other related content on the Genius platform.
• genius-song: Retrieves detailed information about a specific song based on its song ID.
• genius-artist: Fetches detailed information about a particular artist based on their artist ID.

• genius-search-prompt: Provides preset prompts to help users perform search operations more efficiently.

📦 Installation

Environment Requirements

• Node.js (Version 14 or higher is recommended)
• npm (Node Package Manager)

Installation Steps

1. Clone the project repository to your local machine.
2. Create a .env file in the project root directory and add the following content:

   GENIUS_ACCESS_TOKEN=your_client_access_token_here
   

3. Run the following command to install dependencies:

   npm install
   

4. Run in the development environment (with real-time compilation):

   npm run dev
   

5. Build and run in the production environment:

   npm run build && npm start
   

💻 Usage Examples

Configuration via Claude for Desktop

1. Open the user directory of Claude and find or create the claude_desktop_config.json file.
2. Add the following content to the file:

3. Save the file and restart the Claude application.

Basic Usage

• Search Function:

  • Query: "Find Taylor Swift's songs on Genius."
  • Claude will automatically call the genius-search tool to perform the search.

• Get Detailed Information:

  • Song ID query: /genius-song?songId=123456
  • Artist ID query: /genius-artist?artistId=789012

Local Development

1. Clone the project repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/genius-mcp-server.git
   

2. Install dependencies and start the development server:

   npm install && npm run dev
