This project is an MCP server that provides Claude Desktop access to your Microsoft 365 emails, calendars, and (coming soon) files through the Microsoft Graph API.

• ✅ Email Access: Compose, reply, sort, search, filter, and analyze your inbox from Claude or other MCP-compatible agents.
• 🔜 Calendar Support: List by date, compose, and delete emails (Upcoming: Update emails, search).
• 🚧 OneDrive Support: A potential future development direction after the email and calendar functions are stable.

🧱 Technology Stack

• msgraph (Modern Microsoft Graph SDK).
• azure.identity using DeviceCodeCredential and TokenCachePersistenceOptions.
• FastMCP — A simple MCP-compatible server interface.
• uv — A fast Python dependency and environment management tool.

⚙️ Operating Requirements

The current version of this project is suitable for:

• macOS for local operation.
• Use with Claude Desktop.
• Authentication using an application registered through the Azure portal.

⚠️ Important Note

You must have administrative access to an Azure tenant to configure this project. Application registration requires consent for Microsoft Graph scopes (e.g., Mail.Read, Calendars.Read), and by default, users in most organizations cannot consent on their own.

🚀 Quick Start

# Set up the environment
uv venv
uv pip install -r uv.lock

# Run locally with MCP Inspector
mcp dev main.py (errors are expected)

It is recommended to resolve issues in the Inspector before attempting to debug with Claude.

🔐 Authentication Setup

Before running the application, you need to complete the following steps:

1. Create an auth_cache folder in the project root directory:

mkdir -p auth_cache

2. Create a .env file in the project root directory:

touch .env

3. Add the following content to the .env file:

echo "AZURE_CLIENT_ID=<Your ID obtained from the Azure portal>" > .env
echo "AZURE_TENANT_ID=<Your ID obtained from the Azure portal>" >> .env
echo "AZURE_GRAPH_SCOPES=User.Read;Mail.Read;Calendars.Read" >> .env

💻 Integration with Claude Desktop

To use this project in Claude Desktop, add the following content to the Claude/settings.json file:

Note: You may need to replace the path of serverUri if necessary.
