This guide provides a quick start for using the MCP servers in this repository and creating your own MCP servers.

Using MCP Servers in this Repository

TypeScript-based Server

The TypeScript-based server can be directly run using npx.

For example, to run the Memory server:

npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-memory

Python-based Server

The Python-based server can be run using uvx or pip. It is recommended to use uvx to simplify installation and configuration.

For example, to run the Git server:

# Using uvx
uvx mcp-server-git

# Using pip
pip install mcp-server-git
python -m mcp_server_git

Please follow these guides to install uv / uvx, and these to install pip.

Using the MCP Client

However, running a server alone is not very useful. It should be configured in the MCP client. For example, here is a configuration example for integrating the above server into Claude Desktop:
