The Encrypted Whitepaper MCP Server is a structured knowledge base that enables AI agents to access, analyze, and learn from encrypted whitepapers.

✨ Features

• Search for whitepapers: Use DuckDuckGo to find PDF whitepapers of crypto projects.
• Load whitepapers: Download and index whitepaper PDFs into the knowledge base.
• Query the knowledge base: Query whitepaper content with an optional project filter.
• List projects: View all available projects in the knowledge base.
• Claude Desktop integration: Access tools and prompts in Claude Desktop via MCP.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python version 3.10 or higher
• uv for dependency management and running
• Internet connection
• Claude Desktop (Optional, for MCP integration)

Setup Steps

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/kukapay/crypto-whitepapers-mcp.git
   cd crypto-whitepapers-mcp
   

2. Install dependencies using uv:

   uv sync
   

3. Integrate with Claude Desktop (Optional):

   • Edit the Claude Desktop configuration file:
     • MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
     • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
   • Add the following configuration:

     Replace /absolute/path/to/crypto-whitepapers-mcp with the actual absolute path of the repository.
   • Restart Claude Desktop and verify if the server is loaded (look for the icon in the input box).

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

• Tools:

  • list_available_projects(): List the names of all projects in the knowledge base.
  • search_whitepaper(project_name): Search for a whitepaper by project name.
  • load_whitepaper(project_name, url): Download and load the whitepaper of a specified project, providing the correct URL.
  • ask_whitepapers(query, project_filter=None): Search the knowledge base based on a query term and optionally filter the results by project.

• Prompts:

  • analyze_tokenomics: Analyze the tokenomics section of a specific project.

Advanced Usage

Here are some examples of using these functions:

1. List all projects:

   list_available_projects()
   

2. Search for the Ethereum whitepaper:

   search_whitepaper("Ethereum")
   

3. Load the Polkadot whitepaper:

   load_whitepaper("Polkadot", "https://polkadot.network/whitepaper")
