This project is a Node.js-based application that listens for new blocks on the Monad blockchain testnet.

🚀 Quick Start

The Monad MCP Server is a lightweight blockchain listener with the following capabilities:

• Connect to the Alchemy RPC endpoint of the Monad testnet.
• Monitor new blocks in real-time.
• Provide a simple REST API to query the latest block data.
• Record block numbers and transaction counts.

Built on Node.js, it serves both as a blockchain listener and an API service for accessing basic chain information.

📦 Installation

Ensure that the following software is installed on your system:

• Node.js (v18 or higher)
• npm
• Git

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/adekunlebamz/monad-mcp-server.git
cd monad-mcp-server

2. Install dependencies

npm install

3. Create a .env file

Create a .env file in the root directory with the following content:

MONAD_RPC=https://monad-testnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/your-alchemy-key
PORT=3000

📝 Replace your-alchemy-key with your actual Alchemy API key.

4. Start the server

npm start

5. Open in your browser

• Visit http://localhost:3000 to view the welcome message.
• Visit http://localhost:3000/latestblock to get the latest block number and transaction count.

• The listener runs in real-time using provider.on('block').
