The Financial Reports MCP Server is a powerful tool for handling financial data reports. Here's how to get started:

Prerequisites

System Requirements

• Operating System: Linux, macOS, Windows (Docker is recommended)
• Python Version: 3.8+

Install Dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

Startup Methods

There are multiple ways to start the server:

Method 1: Direct Run

python mcp_server.py

Method 2: Use uv (Recommended for Windows)

1. Install uv:

   npm install -g uv
   

2. Start the service:

   uv mcp_server.uv
   

Method 3: Run with Docker

docker build -t financial-reports-mcp .
docker run --rm -it financial-reports-mcp

Write the following content into the configuration file (.env):

Core Interfaces

• get_filing_type(filing_type_id): Get detailed information by file type ID.
• list_industries(...): List all GICS industries.
• get_company_detail(company_id): Get details by company ID.

Usage Examples

Example 1: Query Company Information

I need to find the basic information of Deutsche Bank, including its country, industry, and the latest financial reports.

Example 2: Get Industry Information

Multi-Platform Compatibility

• Linux: Supports all startup methods.
• macOS: Supports all startup methods.
• Windows:
  • It is recommended to use uv for Claude Desktop deployment.
  • Docker requires Docker Desktop for Windows to be installed.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

1. Communication Problems:

   • Ensure the stdio transmission mode is used.
   • Add the -i parameter when starting Docker.

2. Module Not Found:

   • Install all dependencies: pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Unable to Connect to the Server:

   • Check if the server has been successfully started and is listening on the corresponding port.

4. API Authentication Failed:

   • Confirm that the API_KEY in the .env file is configured correctly.

Log Viewing

• When running directly: Logs are output to the console.
• When running with Docker: Use docker logs <container-id> to view.
