🚀 IcebergMCP

IcebergMCP is an AI-based Lakehouse integration solution. It serves as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling users to interact with Apache Iceberg™-based Lakehouses through natural language. It supports clients such as Claude, Cursor, or any other MCP clients.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• An Apache Iceberg™ catalog managed by AWS Glue.
• A configured AWS credentials file with permissions to access the catalog.
• The uv package manager installed. Use brew install uv or refer to the official installation guide.

Claude

1. In Claude, go to Settings > Developer > Edit Configuration > claude_desktop_config.json.
2. Add the following content:

⚙️ Configuration

Configure the AWS connection using environment variables:

• ICEBERG_MCP_PROFILE - The name of the AWS configuration file to use. This role will be assumed and used to connect to the catalog and object storage. By default, the default role is used.
• ICEBERG_MCP_CATALOG - Supported catalog types:
  • aws.glue
  • iceberg.rest (Coming soon!)
