🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Python 3.8+
• A Google Cloud project with the Gmail API enabled
• OAuth 2.0 credentials

Installation

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/theposch/gmail-mcp.git
cd gmail-mcp

# Set up a virtual environment
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: .venv\Scripts\activate

# Install the package
pip install -e .

Google Cloud Configuration

1. Create a new Google Cloud project.
2. Enable the Gmail API.
3. Create OAuth 2.0 credentials and download the JSON file.

Configure the Server

Edit the configuration file config.py:

# Configure Gmail account information
GMAIL_ACCOUNT = 'your_email@gmail.com'
GMAIL_PASSWORD = 'your_password'

# Configure the path to OAuth 2.0 credentials
CREDENTIALS_FILE = 'path/to/credentials.json'

Start the Server

Run the following command to start the MCP server:

python server.py
