exif-mcp is an MCP server that allows large language models (or humans) to read image metadata on-demand in a completely offline environment. It is based on the excellent exifr library, runs extremely fast, and does not rely on any external tools.

exif-mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that offers various tools to extract different metadata segments from images. Written in TypeScript, it leverages the outstanding exifr library to parse image metadata in common formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and HEIC. This enables the service to parse image metadata without executing any external tools, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

• Debug image processing code.

This tool is used in the development and testing of the reverse geolocation service PlaceSpotter.

📦 Installation

# Clone the repository
