What is the Agentic Commerce MCP Demo?

This is a demonstration server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), showing how to achieve business interaction experiences through intelligent agents. It simulates the complete process of restaurant discovery → menu viewing → ordering → getting a receipt, and all data is simulated and generated.

How to use this service?

You can connect to this MCP server through the Goose client or directly access the local development preview interface in the browser. The service provides a series of interactive tools that allow you to search for restaurants, view menus, and simulate orders.

Applicable scenarios

Suitable for developers, designers, and product managers who want to understand how the MCP protocol implements business interaction experiences. It can also serve as a reference implementation for developing similar MCP services.

Main features

Restaurant search
Find nearby simulated restaurants based on the city, state, and keywords.
Restaurant details
View detailed information about the restaurant, including the address, business hours, contact information, etc.
Menu viewing
Browse the restaurant menu, including food pictures and price information.
Order simulation
An interactive ordering interface where you can adjust the quantity and remove dishes.
Receipt viewing
Generate a simulated order receipt, showing the order details and the total amount.
Advantages
Complete demonstration of the business interaction process
Rich interactive UI components
MCP UI that supports click-triggered tool calls
Local development preview function for easy testing
Limitations
For demonstration purposes only, no real data or payment function
No persistent storage or user authentication
Not suitable for production environments

How to use

Install dependencies
Make sure Node.js 20+ and pnpm are installed.
Generate simulated data (optional)
If you need to regenerate the simulated restaurant and menu data.
Start the development server
Start the MCP server and the development preview interface.
Connect to Goose
Add the MCP server in the Goose settings with the URL http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp.

Usage examples

Search for restaurants of a specific type
Find restaurants of a specific type in a certain city, such as coffee shops or pizza shops.
View the menu and place an order
Select a specific restaurant to view its menu and then simulate an order.
Get the order receipt
View the detailed receipt after completing the simulated order.
