📦 Installation

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/manimohans/farcaster-mcp.git
cd farcaster-mcp

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Build the project
npm run build

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Run the Server

npm start

Use with MCP Inspector

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector node ./build/index.js

Use with Claude for Desktop

1. Install Claude for Desktop.
2. Open your Claude for Desktop configuration file (location varies by system):
   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
3. Add the following configuration:

4. Restart Claude for Desktop.

Use with Smithery

This project includes a Smithery configuration file for easy deployment:

get-user-casts

Retrieve posts from a specific Farcaster user by FID (Farcaster ID). Parameters:

• fid: Farcaster user ID (number)
• limit (optional): Maximum number of posts to return (default: 10) Example query: "Show me the latest casts from FID 6846." → "显示FID 6846用户的最新帖子。"

get-username-casts

Retrieve posts from a specific Farcaster user by username. Parameters:

• username: Farcaster username (string)
• limit (optional): Maximum number of posts to return (default: 10) Example query: "Show me the latest casts from username 'mani'." → "显示用户名'mani'的最新帖子。"

get-channel-casts

Retrieve posts from a specific Farcaster channel by channel name or URL. Parameters:

• channel: Channel name or URL (string)
• limit (optional): Maximum number of posts to return (default: 10) Example query: "Show me the latest casts from the 'aichannel' channel." → "显示'aichannel'频道的最新帖子。"
