A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides news headline information. This server enables Large Language Models (LLMs) to access the latest hot news headlines (including types such as recommended, domestic, technology, sports, etc.) and detailed content.

The Aggregated News MCP Server allows LLMs to obtain up - to - date news information. It provides two useful tools to fetch news lists and detailed news content.

Tools

The server implements two tools:

• get_news_list: Retrieve today's hot news headlines based on the news type.

  • It requires a string parameter "type" (news type) as an optional argument.

📦 Installation

This server requires Python 3.10 or a higher version. Install the dependencies using uv (recommended) or pip.

Using uv (Recommended)

When using uv, no specific installation is required. We will use uvx to directly run jnews - mcp - server.

uvx jnews-mcp-server

Installing with pip

Alternatively, you can install jnews - mcp - server via pip:

pip install jnews-mcp-server

After installation, you can run it as a script with the following command:

python -m jnews_mcp_server

Debugging

You can use the MCP inspector to debug the server. For uvx installation:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uvx jnews-mcp-server 

Or if you installed the package in a specific directory or are developing it:
