A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides weather information and alerts for the United States, leveraging the National Weather Service (NWS) API. Specifically designed for AI agents using the Model Context Protocol.

📦 Prerequisites

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/akaramanapp/weather-mcp-server.git
cd weather-mcp-server

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the application:

npm run build

MCP Tools

The server offers two MCP tools for AI agents:

get-alerts

Retrieve weather alerts for a specific US state.

Parameters:

• state: Two-letter state code (e.g., CA, NY)
