This project provides a server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable Claude to access the Qdrant vector database deployed on a VPS.

Background

This project offers an MCP-based server that allows Claude to access the Qdrant vector database deployed on a VPS.

Configuration Details

• Qdrant Service: Deployed via Coolify.
  • URL: http://qdrant-v8gc8cc4sk80o444ccck0gkg.178.16.129.71.sslip.io
  • Collection Name: ClaudeCollection
• MCP Server: Deployed via Docker to expose the Qdrant service to Claude.

Project Architecture

• Dockerfile: Defines the configuration of the Docker container for running the MCP server.
• docker-compose.yaml: Configuration file for deploying the service using Coolify.

Environment Variable Requirements

• QDRANT_URL: The URL address of the Qdrant service.
• QDRANT_API_KEY: The API authentication key for Qdrant.
• COLLECTION_NAME: The collection name used in Qdrant.
• EMBEDDING_MODEL (Optional): By default, the sentence-transformers/all-MiniLM-L6-v2 model is used.

Network Port Configuration

• 8000: The main service port of the MCP server (supports SSE connections).

Configuration Guide for Claude Desktop

To enable Claude Desktop to use this MCP server, modify the claude_desktop_config.json file as follows:

Replace votre-adresse-ip with the public IP address of your VPS or the full domain name provided by Coolify.
