🚀 Clyde MCP Protocol Practice

This repository is for the practice session of MIT's Leading Decentralized AI Festival. It includes the basic steps to get the Clyde MCP protocol up and running on a Windows system within 5 minutes.

✨ Features

This project enables users to quickly set up and run the Clyde MCP protocol on a Windows system, including weather application settings and SQL-lite database examples for Bakery data.

📦 Installation

Weather Application Setup

Prerequisites

• Ensure the uv tool is installed via pip.

Steps

cd weather
uv run weather.py

This command will start a server on your local machine. The Python file contains tools for the LLM to fetch alert and forecast information from government APIs.

Clyde Configuration Setup

Ensure you've changed the claude_config.json in the Clyde desktop:

1. Navigate to File -> Settings -> Developer -> Edit Configuration.
2. Edit the configuration section and provide the absolute path to your Python file.

Voila! Your first MCP server is up and running within 5 minutes.

SQL-lite Database Example for Bakery Data

Steps to Run the SQL Database as an MCP Server

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/servers.git
   

2. Switch to the SQLite directory:

   cd servers
   cd src
   cd sqlite
   

3. Install Docker (if needed):
   • Follow the instructions at: https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/.
   • Verify its operation according to the documentation.
4. Build the Docker image:

   docker build -t mcp/sqlite .
   

5. Update your Clyde configuration file:

6. Restart Clyde to apply the changes.

Bakery Database Setup

1. Create the bakery database table:
   • ingredients (id, name, unit, quantity, cost, supplier, min_order_quantity)
2. Populate the data:
   • Add 10 ingredients and their Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs).
3. Add queries to implement:
   • Low stock alerts
