A Python-based Azure CLI assistant that offers natural language processing capabilities for Azure commands, leveraging the Azure MCP server.

🚀 Quick Start

Once you've completed the installation steps, you can start using the Azure Terminal Copilot. Here's how you can learn and troubleshoot during the usage:

Learning

Once the program is running, try the following:

1. Provide a query like "List all my resource groups". Is the expected command executed?
2. Try different models. Notice which models perform better?
3. Adjust the system prompt. How would you improve it?

• Ensure that your Azure CLI is logged in, as the Azure MCP uses it for authentication.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python 3.11+ (as specified in pyproject.toml)
• Azure CLI installed and configured
• Ollama installed and the model downloaded
• uv for Python package management
• Azure MCP server installed and running

Steps

1. Clone the repository

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/azure-terminal-copilot.git
   cd azure-terminal-copilot
   

2. Open a terminal and start the uv environment

   uv venv
   

3. Install the package using uv

   uv pip install .
   

4. Run Ollama and note its local address.
5. Run the Azure MCP server and note its local address.
6. Rename the .env-sample file to .env.
7. I've provided sample values in it, so make sure to update these values according to the local Ollama, Azure MCP you're running, and the model you're using.
8. Now you can run python main.py.
