🚀 Code Review MCP Server

A GitHub pull request code review server using the Model Context Protocol, integrated with OpenRouter's AI models.

🚀 Quick Start

This server can be used by any MCP-compatible client (e.g., Claude Desktop). To start the MCP server, run the following command:

node build/index.js

📦 Installation

1. Clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/joaomj/code-reviewer-mcp.git
cd code-reviewer-mcp

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Set the necessary environment variables:

export GITHUB_PAT=your_github_personal_access_token
export OPENROUTER_API_KEY=your_openrouter_api_key

4. Build the server:

npm run build

Basic Usage

To start the server, use the following command:

node build/index.js

Advanced Usage

For advanced debugging, you can use the MCP inspector:

npm run inspector

📚 Documentation

Requirements

• GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT): It should have the repo permission to access private repositories or the public_repo permission to access public repositories. This token is used to retrieve pull request data.
• OpenRouter API Key

Current Limitations

⚠️ Important Note

Currently, the server only supports open pull requests (draft PRs are not supported).

• Use automatic rebuild:

npm run watch

Debugging

The built-in logs are output to stderr, providing detailed debugging information, including:

• GitHub API requests
• OpenRouter API calls
• Processing steps
• Any encountered errors
