📦 Installation

Clone the Repository

Database Configuration

1. Create the required MySQL database:

CREATE DATABASE IF NOT EXISTS interview_questions;

2. Access the database and create a new user (if not already created) using the following command:

mysql -u root -p
MariaDB [(none)]> CREATE USER 'interview_user'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
MariaDB [(none)]> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON interview_questions.* TO 'interview_user'@'localhost';
MariaDB [(none)]> FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
MariaDB [(none)]> EXIT;

Build and Run the Project

Build and run the project using Maven:

mvn spring-boot:run

📚 Documentation

Adding a New Category

The system supports categories of any string type. To add a new category, simply use the category name when creating a question.

Extending the Model

To extend the InterviewQuestion model to include more fields:

1. Update the InterviewQuestion.java entity class.
2. Add the corresponding getter and setter methods.
3. Restart the application (since it's configured with spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=update, the database table structure will be updated automatically).
