🚀 MCP Thinking Tool

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server implementing the "thinking" functionality to enhance the complex reasoning capabilities of Claude and other large language models (LLMs).

The MCP server implements the "thinking" tool described in Anthropic's blog post. This tool provides Claude with a dedicated space for structured thinking during complex task - solving processes. Practical use has shown that the "thinking" tool can significantly improve performance in tasks that require policy compliance and long - term reasoning chains.

📦 Installation

You can install the MCP server in two ways:

Install from PyPI

pip install mcp-think

Install from source code

git clone https://github.com/ddkang1/mcp-think.git
cd mcp-think
pip install -e .

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

You can directly run the MCP server:

mcp-think

By default, the SSE transport protocol is used. If you need to use the stdio transport protocol:

mcp-think --transport stdio

Specify the host and port to use SSE transport:

mcp-think --host 0.0.0.0 --port 3001

Configuration

To use this tool with Claude in Windsurf, add the following to the MCP configuration file:

For stdio transport protocol:

The command field should point to the directory where the Python package is installed.
