A production-ready, scalable template for building Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Use Python to quickly create, expand, and deploy MCP servers, exposing tools, prompts, and resources to large language models (LLMs) and agent clients.

This is not a specific server implementation but a Python starter template. It provides a modular and well-documented foundation for building your own MCP server, supporting multiple transport layers (STDIO, SSE, HTTP, etc.) and demonstrating best practices in security, scalability, and maintainability.

📦 Quick Start

1. Clone the repository:

git clone [Repository URL]
cd mcp-base

2. Install dependencies:

pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Configure the environment: Copy .env.example to .env and fill in the required values.

4. Start the server:

python src/server.py

💻 Usage Examples

Create a New Tool

Create a new tool class in the src/tools/ directory:
