What is PicGo Uploader?

PicGo Uploader is an intermediate server that acts as a bridge between your application and the PicGo image hosting tool. Through the standardized MCP protocol, you can easily invoke PicGo's upload function without directly operating the PicGo application.

How to use PicGo Uploader?

Simply install and keep this server running. When your application needs to upload an image, send the image path via the MCP protocol, and the upload will be automatically completed, returning the cloud link.

Use cases

• Quickly insert online images in Markdown editors • Batch upload local screenshots when writing blogs • Workflows that require automatic uploading of images to a specified image hosting service

Main features

Batch upload
Supports uploading multiple images at once, improving work efficiency
Cross-platform support
Compatible with Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems
Automatically obtain links
Automatically returns a directly usable image URL after upload
Advantages
No need for repeated configuration: Reuse existing PicGo image hosting settings
Simple operation: Just provide the image path to complete the upload
Standardized interface: Seamlessly integrate with other tools via the MCP protocol
Limitations
Depends on the PicGo application: PicGo must be running in the background
Only supports absolute paths: A complete file path is required
Network-dependent: A stable network connection is required for upload

How to use

Install the PicGo application
Download and install the PicGo desktop version. Ensure that the server function is enabled in the settings (default port 36677).
Install the MCP server
Globally install picgo-uploader via npm or yarn.
Start the server
Run the picgo-uploader command in the terminal and keep the window open.
Send an upload request
Invoke the upload_image_via_picgo tool via an MCP client (e.g., Roo Code).
