🚀 Quick Start

1. Environment Setup

First, you need to set up environment variables. Create a file at src/env/keys.ts:

⚠️ Important Note: Storing API keys directly in source code is not recommended in a production environment. This is for local development and learning purposes only. You can also set environment variables directly in the Cursor MCP interface.

2. Installation

npm install

yarn install

3. Development and Build Commands

# Build the server
npm run build-only

# Development mode (watch for changes)
npm run dev

# Run the server
npm run start

# Deploy with PM2
npm run pm2

# Other PM2 commands
npm run stop      # Stop the server
npm run restart   # Restart the server
npm run logs      # View server logs
npm run status    # Check server status

4. Add to Cursor

This project is designed to serve as an MCP server in Cursor. Here's how to set it up:

1. Open Cursor.
2. Go to Cursor Settings > Features > MCP.
3. Click + Add New MCP Server.
4. Fill out the form:
   • Name: AI Development Assistant
   • Type: stdio
   • Command: node /path/to/your/project/build/index.js

💡 Usage Tip: You may need to use the full path to the project build file.

After adding the server, you should see your tools under "Available Tools". If they're not listed, try clicking the refresh button in the top-right corner of the MCP server section.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

After configuration, you can use these tools directly in Cursor's Composer. The AI will automatically suggest relevant tools, or you can explicitly request them by name or description.

For example, try typing the following in the Composer:

• “Check code for best practices”
• “Help me architect a new feature”
• “Analyze this UI screenshot”

The agent will ask for your approval before using the tools.

💡 Usage Tip: You can update the instructions in the .cursorrules file to specify how tools should be used in certain scenarios, and the agent will use the tools automatically.
