🚀 Yandex Maps MCP Server

This is an MCP (Map Conversion Protocol) server for the Yandex Maps API, which can handle tasks like displaying a map of Berlin or showing the location of a specific place.

📦 Installation

API Keys

You need two Yandex Maps API keys:

1. A "JavaScript and Geocoder API" key for geocoding functionality.
2. A Static API key for map rendering.

Steps to generate API keys:

1. Open https://developer.tech.yandex.ru/ and log in with authorization.
2. Click "Connect APIs". Select "JavaScript and Geocoder API" and fill out the form.
3. Visit the dashboard page of this API and copy the API key.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to generate a key for the Static API.

Local Run

1. Clone the repository.
2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Set your API keys:

export YANDEX_MAPS_API_KEY="your-geocoder-api-key"
export YANDEX_MAPS_STATIC_API_KEY="your-static-api-key"

4. Run the server:

npm start

Basic Usage

maps_geocode

This function converts an address to coordinates.

🔧 Technical Details

Known Limitations

• Only known address or location data is supported as input.
• Information about unknown or undefined locations cannot be retrieved.
• The map rendering function may be restricted by the API's terms of use.
