revit-mcp enables you to interact with Revit via the MCP protocol using MCP-supported clients like Claude and Cline.

This project serves as the server-side (providing tools for AI usage). You need to use it in conjunction with revit-mcp-plugin (to drive Revit).

🚀 Quick Start

revit-mcp allows you to interact with Revit through the MCP protocol using clients that support MCP. This is a server-side project, and you need to use it together with revit-mcp-plugin to drive Revit.

✨ Features

• Enable AI to retrieve data from Revit projects.
• Allow AI to drive Revit to create, modify, and delete elements.
• Send AI-generated code to Revit for execution (success is not guaranteed; success rates are higher in certain simple scenarios with clear requirements).

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Node.js version 18 or higher.

The specific requirements for the installation environment still need to consider the requirements of revit-mcp-plugin. Please refer to revit-mcp-plugin.

Steps

1. Build the Local MCP Service

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the project:

npm run build

2. Client Configuration

Claude Client

Open the Claude client -> Settings -> Developer -> Edit Configuration -> claude_desktop_config.json

Add the following content to the JSON file:

Restart the Claude client. When you see the hammer icon, it indicates that the connection to the MCP service is normal.
