🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Go 1.23 or higher

Running the Server

go run cmd/server/main.go

By default, the server runs on port 8080. You can change the port by setting the DCR_MCP_PORT environment variable.

Git Summarization Tool

This MCP tool uses OpenAI to analyze commit messages from any repository and generate an easy-to-understand, human-readable summary organized by category.

Usage

The tool accepts the following parameters:

Parameter Explanation

• repo_url (Required): The URL of the Git repository to analyze
• branch (Required): The branch to analyze
• start_date (Required): The date to start analyzing commits (supports any standard format)
• end_date (Optional): The date to end analyzing commits (defaults to the current date)
• author (Required): Filter commits by author name (case-insensitive inclusive match)
• api_key (Required): Your OpenAI API key (defaults to using the OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable)

1. Clone the repository:

🔧 Technical Details

Server

The server is implemented using mcp-go. It listens on port 8080 by default and can be configured to run on a different port using the DCR_MCP_PORT environment variable.

Git Summarization Tool

The Git summarization tool uses OpenAI to analyze commit messages and generate summaries. It accepts a set of parameters to filter commits and generate the summary.
