🚀 Model Context Protocol (MCP) English Guide

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard designed to connect Large Language Models (LLMs) with external tools and data sources. With MCP, developers can easily integrate various tools into the LLM workflow, enabling the model to access multiple resources such as file systems, databases, and APIs.

🚀 Quick Start

Using the MCP Server in This Repository

The TypeScript-based server can be directly run using npx.

For example, to start the Memory server, run the following command:

npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-memory

The Python-based server can be run via uvx or pip. It is recommended to use uvx to simplify installation and configuration.

For example, to start the Git server, run the following commands:

# Using uvx
uvx mcp-server-git

# Using pip
pip install mcp-server-git
python -m mcp_server_git

Please follow these instructions to install uv / uvx, and these to install pip.

Using the MCP Client

Running just a server alone doesn't make much sense. Usually, you need to configure the server in the MCP client for use. For example, here's how to configure and use the above server in Claude Desktop:
