🚀 MCP Server for PlayCanvas Editor: Automating the MCP Server of PlayCanvas Editor with Large Language Models (LLMs)

This is an MCP server designed to automate the PlayCanvas Editor using Large Language Models (LLMs).

⚠️ Important Note

Currently, the MCP server needs to be powered by Anthropic's Claude. Our experience shows that the free tier of Claude offers a context window that is not large enough to run the MCP server reliably. Therefore, we highly recommend subscribing to Claude Pro.

✨ Features

The following are the tools supported by the MCP server:

• mcp-editor tools list: Displays all available tools.
• mcp-editor tools help <tool>: Displays help information for a specific tool.
• mcp-editor chat enable: Enables the conversation mode with the editor.
• mcp-editor chat disable: Disables the conversation mode with the editor.

🚀 Quick Start

The PlayCanvas Editor does not automatically connect to the MCP server. To establish a connection:

1. Activate the Chrome tab where the PlayCanvas Editor is running.
2. Click on the extension icon on the right side of the address bar.
3. Select PlayCanvas Editor MCP Extension to open the extension popup.
4. Click CONNECT (the port number should match the settings in your MCP configuration JSON file).

💡 Usage Tip

Currently, you can only connect one instance of the PlayCanvas Editor to the MCP server.

Now, you should be able to issue commands via Claude Desktop or Cursor.
